 Ich komme aus der Dun­kel­kam­mer. Als Teen­ager durfte ich mir eine auf der win­zi­gen Gäs­te­toi­lette un­se­rer Woh­nung ein­rich­ten. So bin ich mit der ana­lo­gen Fo­to­gra­fie groß ge­wor­den – und mit dem Le­sen und Schrei­ben von Ge­dich­ten. Lange Zeit hatte ich das Ge­fühl, mich für das eine oder andre ent­schei­den zu müs­sen.

Heute macht es für mich kaum ei­nen Un­ter­schied, ein Ge­dicht zu schrei­ben oder ein Foto zu ent­wi­ckeln. Die Werk­zeuge sind ver­schie­den, aber die krea­ti­ven Pro­zesse sind sich sehr ähn­lich und de­cken sich so­gar oft. 

Letzt­lich geht es mir darum, et­was in­halt­lich und for­mal so weit zu er­ar­bei­ten, dass es seine Aus­sage auf den Punkt bringt, stim­mig wird und am Ende für sich selbst ste­hen und wir­ken kann. Das ge­lingt nicht im­mer. Je­des neue Bild und je­des neue Ge­dicht ist ein neuer An­lauf mit of­fe­nem Aus­gang. 

„al­les liegt am licht“ be­schreibt eine Grund­er­fah­rung, die sich im Laufe vie­ler Jahre krea­ti­ven Su­chens und Ar­bei­tens her­aus­kris­tal­li­sierte. Die­ser Satz ist mein stän­di­ger Be­glei­ter und Weg­wei­ser. Er bringt mich dazu, im­mer wie­der neu zu se­hen und hat für mich eine Be­deu­tung, die weit über die Sphäre der Kunst hin­aus­geht.
